A Book Report About "Briana's Gift"

A Book Report About "Briana's Gift"

It took me about two weeks to finish reading "Briana's Gift". I felt how family's love is great and I decided to write a book report to expreaa my emotion.

"Briana's Gift" is written by Lurlene McDaniel .Her novels are hard-hitting and realistic, but also leave readers with inspiration and hope. There are 160 pages in the book which is published by Delacorte Press in 2006.It shows us that Sissy's sixteen-year-old sister Briana ran away with an older boy that her mother didn't like. When she returned home alone and pregnant,Sissy and her mother tried to help her to come to terma with options.Unluckily,Briana became a quadriplegic in an accident. One day Briana became critically ill and the doctors thought it best to get the baby out quickly. After that,Briana's heart stopped. All family members and her friends were very sad.Her mother wanted to give the baby up to someone, but Sissy didn't.She wanted to be a great aunt and gave the most love to the baby,so she tried to persuade her mother to make a different decision. At last, her mother understood that there was only one way to accept Briana's gift.

I admirate that Sissy showed loving care for her sister Briana even though Briana was hospitalized as a quadriplegic for a long time.Sometimes Sissy played a flute to Briana's baby. She insisted on coming to the hospital to care for Briana after her classes. In our modern world, some of the patients have big families, but not of them can handle knowing that their loved one is never going to be the way he or she used to be.It is hard to accept that someone you love will spend a lifetime as a quadriplegic, but Sissy had done it without being tired.I think she loved her sister very much.Briana was sustained on life support for a long time and Sissy had to face several difficult choices while dealing with loss, love and life ai Christmastime. She was just only fourteen-year-old,in my country,a fourteen-year-old child is taken good care of in his or her family and they live totally without worries. But Sissy was opposite and she thought it was a duty for her to care for everything about her family. It is a honor for Briana to have a good sister.

I think Sissy's mother loved Briana very much though she didn't say a word to express the love. She took out a box filled with ribbons ,barretts, headbands and bows. She had kept it since the two sisters were little. That box reminded her of Briana's happy childhood.Mother's eyes filled with tears. She thought while it made a lot of sence to have a good, loving couple raise Briana's baby, she couldn't let her go.She also thought that the baby was all they had of Briana. All that reminded of her lovely daughter.Mothers devote themselves to taking care of their children in their lives all over the world. They also regard their children as babies no matter they realize their children have been adults.Something is passing away, like autumn leaves blown from trees by the winds of change, but mothers' love for their children never changes.

I learn a lot of things from the novel.I should pay more attention to my family and care for them as much as I can.My parents become older and older now and they till work hard to earn more money for my tuition fee.The baby is Briana's gift in the novel while my high achievement is the best gift for my parents. When I succeed in the future,I will earn more and more money for my parents and take best care of them.I hope it will come true.

It is a fascinating book and I like it very much.I tells you about a lot of philosophies in the life.If you obey these norms, you will make less mistakes. And these can help you deal with different kinds of difficultiws. It is worth reading.I hope you will like it.
